Providing expert care for your children is the reason that Board Certified Pediatrician John Bates, M.D., opened Pediatric Place in Union City in 2007. Since that time, the Obion County clinic has grown to include a certified pediatric nurse practitioner and several specialized team members to serve your family. The one-of-a-kind clinic space was constructed to provide both comfort and the latest technology to meet the unique needs of your children as they grow from infants to teenagers.
With a dedicated nurse line and an online patient portal, you can call for medical guidance or access your children’s medical records after hours. In addition to well-child checkups, you can rely on the staff at Pediatric Place for sports physicals, allergy shots, immunizations, and other needs.
Pediatric Place is a dream-turned-reality for Dr. John Bates and his family. His wife, Mandy, is from Union City, and they returned in 2007 to establish this practice. John and Mandy attended Freed-Hardeman University for their undergraduate work. After that, Dr. John received his medical training at the University of Alabama and later completed his pediatric residency at Duke Children’s Hospital. He and Mandy have seven children of their own, so he has a great deal of experience, both professionally and personally, when it comes to caring for the wellbeing of children at all ages and stages of life.
As residents for more than a decade, Dr. John and his family are rooted in the Union City community. They love supporting local events and finding ways to give back to their neighbors. “My favorite part of the UC community is the familiar faces all around town. I love seeing my patients/families at Walmart, the soccer field, the church building, or just walking in the neighborhood. This community lives and grows together. We support each other, celebrate each other, and comfort each other.”
Ultimately, Pediatric Place of Union City has served and will continue to serve the children and families of this community by providing quality care. The Pediatric Place staff love watching families grow. They love helping parents navigate the challenges of raising children–from infant care and intermittent illnesses to the struggles of parenting adolescents and teenagers.
